This chart has much to say,
but that is for another day. There is enough provender here to set a banquet for a dozen doctoral dissertations. Meantime, for openers, the correlation coefficient of the changes in each series is less than 0.02 with an r squared of 0.006 whether you lead, lag, or hold simultaneous, stocks vs GDP. 1.0 is perfect correlation. 0.0 is no correlation at all.
